Happy Birthday and Watermelon Day, PHPS!
Last Friday our school officially celebrated it’s 100th birthday.
We held an assembly on the 3-6 site (the original school site) to mark the occasion. This more formal part of the day was then followed by students eating some watermelon with their buddy class and engaging in some games from yesteryear.
When the school was opened in 1925 students of the day ate watermelon to celebrate and due to the generosity of the school’s P&C, Harris Farm Pennant Hills, IGA Supamart Pennant Hills and Pennant Hills Marketplace our students had to opportunity recreate this moment in history.
Thank you to the School Leadership Team; Tilly, Parker, Katherine, Dhruv, Emma, Lachlan, Sunnee, Ewan, Ella and Beau for speaking about the history of Pennant Hills Public School and for leading day’s activities so beautifully.
Thank you to Mrs Griffith and Mrs Wasson for their organisation of the day and to Mr Gareth Watkins, P&C President and Mr Alister Henskens, SC MP for attending the event.
