Stage One

Grandparents Day

Grandparents Day

On Monday 28th October, we were lucky enough to have our wonderful grandparents visit us for Grandparents Day! The morning began with a K-2 concert in the school hall where each grade sang a special song. Of course, the best part was the finale where all of K-2 took to the stage to sing "I Am Going To My Grandparent's House". After the concert, our grandparents enjoyed a morning tea and then had the chance to visit their grandchildren's classrooms. They were able to see all of the amazing work their grandchildren had completed throughout the year, and even join in with some activities. It was such a special morning which we love facilitating each year.

Swim School

Swim School

Throughout Weeks 4-5 of Term 4, our Year 2 students have been participating in swimming lessons. It has been a pleasure to see students improve so much with their swimming and water safety skills. Students have been learning an array of new skills, relevant to their ability. Some have been focusing on water familiarisation and increasing their confidence, whilst others have been learning correct technique for more formal swimming strokes.

Life Education

Stage 1 students have had the chance to visit Harold the Giraffe in the Life Education van and learn all about safety. Students have learnt about:

  • recognising safe and unsafe environments

  • safe and unsafe situations and behaviours online

  • how to care for others

  • places and people we can go to for help

Year 2-3 Transition

In weeks 8 and 9 of this term, our Year 2 students will be engaging in some sessions to help with a smoother transition to our primary site. This will involve doing a tour of the 3-6 campus, experiencing a morning assembly, engaging in a Year 3 lesson and visiting the canteen. This is a very exciting time for these students in preparation for the move to 3-6 in 2025.

Fitness

Stage 1 love our fitness sessions! This term, we are doing aerobics and guided dance and also participating in our very own 'run club' on a Wednesday. Students love to work up a sweat and be actively involved with improving their aerobic fitness.

Sport

For the first half of this term, we are completing some sport sessions for cricket. Mrs Buttrey has been teaching us the skills of throwing and catching, fielding and everyone's favourite.... batting!.
