NSW schools offer special religious education (SRE) and special education in ethics (SEE). Approved providers deliver these, where available.
At Pennant Hills Public School classes run each week on Wednesdays. Primary classes from 9.20am - 9.55am, Infants 10.15am - 10.50am. The classes are run by volunteers from the community/denomination. The options for SRE are as follows;
Anglican
Anglican Scripture introduces children to the Bible and the message of who Jesus is in a fun and engaging way. Our interactive classes are taught by trained SRE volunteers from St Mark's Anglican Church, Pennant Hills. The high quality, approved curriculum (Connect) allows children to explore matters of life and faith together.
Baptist
Baptist Scripture consists of a K-2 class and a Primary Year 3-6 class, taught by members of Pennant Hills Baptist church. We present Bible stories and inspiring contemporary stories of faith, to help children explore spiritual and life issues at an age appropriate level.
Catholic
Catholic Scripture will help children explore and deepen their relationship with Christ. Our teachers are from St Agatha’s Catholic Church in Pennant Hills
and the children are taught from the Walking with Jesus (Pathway to Discipleship) Program. Classes are from Kindergarten to year 6.
Hindu
The purpose of Hindu Scripture Classes is to help students identify with the Hindu Religion, Sanatana Dharma, Rich Hindu History and Hindu Role models. The Hindu Scripture Classes also make sure that students learn how enduring and time tested Hindu values are universal and how they can be applied in this Century.
Ethics
Special education in ethics (SEE) is a program in ethical decision making, action and reflection within a secular framework.
Write to the school if you wish to withdraw your child from special religious education, sometimes known as scripture. For more information, visit Religion and ethics.
