Stage 1 Excursion - North Head

Students on an excursion to North Head

On Thursday 4th and Thursday 11th March, Year 1 and 2 travelled to North Head to participate in an excursion to complement our science unit of work on the changing landscape and our geography unit of work on weather. All students were so excited to travel on an excursion after the year that was 2020. The weather held off beautifully for us on both days and the children were able to explore the landscapes in class groups, led by tour guides. Here are some recounts of our day:

"On Thursday, the whole of Year 2 travelled to North Head, Manly, in a bus. When we got there, our tour guide talked about the plants and Aboriginal seasons." - Max 2B

"After recess, we went on an exciting bush walk. The tour guide called it Dinosaur Land because it had ferns. Then we played an activity. We were trying to find out what was the sneaky animal or plant that wasn't there. Then we got to see Sydney Harbour." - Emily 2B

"After that, we made bandicoot nests. Bandicoots are an endangered population. Lastly, we listened to the birds squawking. I loved the excursion." - Emma 2B
