Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.

UNDERSTANDING OUR AWARDS
When your child receives an award, keep it in a safe space.
Once your child receives the required amount for the next level they can be returned to school and their award can be created. The details of the number and level of the awards are detailed in the flowchart below.
Burumins - Fast & Frequent: Site Specific Awards
Burumin is Dharug for ‘possum’ it has been named after our school totem Pem.
The Burumin is handed out by all teachers, across all areas of the school to students who are demonstrating our three-core values, Respect, Aspire and Responsibility.
Each site has a Burumin box which is taken to assembly each fortnight. Three Burumins are drawn from the box at assembly, the students whose names are on the Burumin are rewarded with a prize.
When the Burumin box is filled with awards the whole site receives a reward
Ten Frames - Classroom Reward
Every student has a tens frame with their name on it in their classroom.
Every day, teachers reward students demonstrating our three-core values, Respect, Aspire and Responsibility with a stamp on the students’ tens frame.
Once the student has filled their tens frame by demonstrating our three core values, they receive a merit award.
